CGA Partners in Women’s Gymnastics and Men’s Hockey Claim Big Ten Championships

Why have one when you can have two?

With a two point win over Rutgers on Feb. 23, Michigan State University Women’s Gymnastics claimed their second consecutive regular season Big Ten Championship. The back-to-back champs finished the regular season 12-3 overall, 9-0 in the conference, and clinched their championship with victories over four Big Ten teams, three of them ranked opponents, at the Big Five Meet at Penn State University.

They followed up this regular season title clinching victory with another dominant performance at the Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championship on Saturday, March 16. Hosted at Jenison Field House on MSU’s campus, the atmosphere felt like a home meet for the Spartans as their overall score of 197.600 secured their first conference championship in school history.

On a similar note, MSU Men’s Hockey took home their first regular season Big Ten title with a 5-2 win over the Wisconsin Badgers. Finishing the regular season with a record of 22-9-3, 16-6-2 in Big Ten play, the Spartans turned to the Big Ten Tournament with further championship aspirations on the horizon. The Spartans on skates delivered, marking another first for the Spartans, winning the Big Ten Tournament with a 2-1 win over Ohio State University in the semifinal, and a 5-4 overtime thriller over the Michigan Wolverines to capture the trophy.

Charitable Gift America is proud to sponsor these championship athletes on and off the field. The MSU women’s gymnastics team was the first program to sign a teamwide, charity based NIL contract, and their agreements have impacted over a dozen charities worldwide. The men’s hockey team has also entered into NIL agreements with CGA, and has created a ripple effect on a wide variety of charitable causes.

The MSU women’s gymnastics team will headline the Florida region of the NCAA tournament on April 4-7. A victory in the region would advance them to the 2024 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics National Championship competition held April 18 - 20 in Forth Worth, Texas. The men’s hockey team received the number four overall seed in the 2024 DI Men's Ice Hockey Championship, and a first round matchup against Western Michigan University awaits on March 29. The championship will culminate at the Frozen Four in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where the Spartans aspire to be one of the last four teams remaining in the quest for a national title.
